Perry Phillips, a fine vocalist with a smooth baritone voice, who is also the drummer of his quartet, has performed for many years throughout the U.S.A., Canada, and Europe. He has performed in upscale hotels and in clubs in New York City, the Copa Lounge in the Copa Cabana Night Club, the Villa Grove nightclub in Flushings, Queens, NY. He has been backed up by Dizzy Gillespies’ quintet, and has shared the stage with the famous Buck Clayton all stars. Perry has played in casino lounges in Las Vegas and long engagements at Harrah’s casino in Atlantic City N.J. Perry has also performed in lounges on board cruise ships for 15 years. The extensive repertoire of the group is suitable for jazz rooms, and ballroom dancing and can play a large variety of music that will please a diverse audience.
Srikanth Narayanan, the bassist with the Perry Phillips Quartet, has worked with the Perry Phillips Quartet since 2013. Before joining the group and working for Royal Caribbean International, he had experience working on board Princess Cruises Lines, and Carnival Cruise Lines, where he performed a wide variety of lounge, ballroom, and pop standards. In Montreal, Srikanth has accompanied wonderful artists in renowned venues like Upstairs Jazz Bar, The House of Jazz, La Sala Rossa, Casino Mont Tremblant, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, Victoria Hall, Gainzbar, Le Petit Medley and more. Srikanth has a Bachelor of Music from McGill University and also studied jazz performance at Concordia University. Srikanth does most of the video, photo, audio and website work for the group. When not working on board Royal Caribbean ships with the Perry Phillips Quartet, Srikanth has taken orchestra show band contracts on board the Norwegian Cruise Line's Gem which features a shorter version of the Broadway show Swing!
Chad Gales made the Perry Phillips Trio into a Quartet when he joined the group in 2013. Chad shows enthusiasm and determination that is nostalgic of his saxophone heroes and musicians. He brings the fire, warmth and work ethic to the band stand whenever he plays with the group on board Royal Caribbean Oasis class ships. Born in New Orleans, Mr. Gales studied traditional jazz in the great musical scene of historic New Orleans. Chad gained formal musical training at the University of New Orleans under the tutoring of Ellis Marsalis and Edward Petersen. After two years, he transferred to Southern University of Baton Rouge to study exclusively under Alvin Batiste (1932-2007). Chad has a Master's Degree in music education at Herbet H. Lehman College.
Lukas Swiecicki joined the quartet in March 2016. A skilled pianist from Poland, Lukas has many cruise ship and luxury hotel contracts under his fingers, and brings excellent harmonic knowledge and a fiery energy to the stage.
Trevor Lund has played in the US Marine Corp band and completed an undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas. Since graduating, he has worked steadily with the cruise ship companies Regent, Princess Cruises and now Royal Caribbean. He joins the Perry Phillips Quartet playing tenor saxophone.
David Durrah, is a fine pianist, a composer with a jazz background, and is comfortable playing any style of music. He has written a number of compositions, recorded albums, played concerts and performed with many well known artists, such as Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Stitt, B.B. King, James Brown, Cab Calloway and others. David has performed in many clubs in New York City, Las Vegas and all around the U.S.A., Europe, Asia and Africa. He joined the Perry Phillips Trio in 2002. Since then, he has traveled extensively, performing music in the lounges of cruise ships. His contribution to the quartet is a great asset. David retired from ships in 2016 and is currently active in the music scene in Harlem NYC.
